Review:

I was given this book to do a honest review.
I thought the author did a great job to portray all the characters. Gracie is a young lady, who was just searching for love but always found jerks. but love does funny things and when she wasn't looking she found love for Ash. "being gay" she opened up to him like she would a friend .... but what she wasn't expecting to do is fall for this gay guy. The story has many parts that just wants you to just choke someone and many parts where you just fall in love with the story. I find this book is a book many people can relate to from their own experience. It just shows that even if your life is full of Hudsons there is a Ash for Everyone. Gracie didn't have to experience anything alone she had her room mates and her best friend Cameron that is a life alot of us wishes we had. I rate this book a 5 for not only giving me another book boyfriend but for the awesome book that I and many more can relate to!.

Her father is getting married - again - and he wants her to be at the wedding. So over summer break, Olivia packs her bags and makes the trip back to England to meet her future stepmother. But instead of the middle-aged woman she expected, Olivia finds herself introduced to Emmy Balfour, a stunning blonde young enough to be her sister. And if that wasn’t enough, she also finds herself dealing with the disapproval of Emmy’s older brother, Ian, a man for whom “polite” and “respect” seem to be four-letter words.

With only three weeks until the wedding, Olivia struggles to stay afloat while navigating the treacherous waters of wedding planners, aristocracy, and bridesmaid’s dresses - not to mention the bridesmaids in the dresses. But just when she thinks everything is finally settling down, a few well-timed lies threaten to destroy her father’s chance at happiness. Fangs Chronicles Mandy's story
by D'Elen McClain
136 pages
Published: Bad Luck Publishing (July 15, 2013)

Synopsis:

Mandy’s Story is a standalone, humorous and little bit kinky side story to the Fang Chronicles series.

Every beastkind knows you don’t mess with a Kodiak bear—everyone that is except Mandy, the wolf-pack Alpha’s sister. When Mandy hears whispers that the bad attitude bear, Honey, has chosen a mate, she takes matters into her own hands because her wolf decided months before that Honey was hers. If drugging, kidnapping, and making him live in a feral cage won’t work she’s planning to give Honey a little bad attitude of her own.

The bear clan is ferocious, deadly, and their fighting skills coveted by other "beastkind". With war on the horizon, Honey has little time for games or courting much less more than a few grunts of acknowledgement to a young she-wolf who seems to be everywhere he looks. When he wakes up in a feral cage at the hands of that same exasperating she-wolf… all bets are off.

If anyone thought bears and wolves don’t mix, they've never seen Mandy on a mission. She refuses to give into the sexy he-bear when he tries to seduce her out of her tight little assets and himself out of the cage she’s locked him in. Two can play that game and in the end Honey will learn, they both need to win, or else.

Review:
Mandy, a werewolf shape shifter, takes matters into her own hands to get her intended mate Honey, a Kodiak bear shape shifter. By shooting the bear with a tranquilizer gun she kidnaps him and takes him to a place she remembers from growing up. She is hoping that the Stockholm's syndrome with make him want to mate with her. What she didn't know is that he had plans to mate with her when she became of age. The story is about the two opposites falling for each other and introducing their culture to one another. The book is funny, exciting  romantic and more... I really enjoyed the book and look forward to read the other Fang Chronicle Stories.
This book has Alpha bears in it but it does not have the Alpha bear fights or the Alpha Wolf fights.
Mandy saw what she wanted and did what she felt was best to get what she wanted! love it!

Shattered Grace Review

Shattered Grace Review
by K Anne Raines

Published: March 6, 2013

Pages: 412
Purchase: Amazon
Goodreads

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Grace grows up knowing she’s different, but she always attributed it to a mother who didn’t want her, a father who abandoned her, and a curse that sets her apart. Despite those struggles, her grandfather remained her rock and confidant. Her life irrevocably shatters the day her grandfather dies. The day of his funeral sets off a chain of events, making Grace question everything she’s ever known to be true, and as a result, who she can truly trust. She inherits his house, part of his money, his Guardian and something that ties them together. Just before Grace’s 18th birthday, she is thrust into a world she couldn't fathom existed and does everything she can to thwart the destiny suddenly forced upon her. She’s been chosen for greatness, but at what cost? With eyes now open, she must choose to either be Chosen, or watch those around her suffer the consequences. Torn between the man who’s come to protect her and the one sent to destroy her, she teeters on the edge of decision, trying to come to grips with who she is, what she wants and what all of that means for her, those she loves and the rest of mankind.

Excerpt:

"Broken hearts don't count as physical hurt? Grace asked tersely. She watched Quentin wince. "Didn't think so." She looked away.
"Grace, " Quentin said softly.
"What? Your a guy, you just don't get it."
Quentin cocked an eyebrow, and bent his head slightly. "Do you want me to explain how I do get it, or do you want to talk about your questions?"
Resisting the other sharp retorts fighting to come out, she shook her head. "I have other things I want to talk about" A sudden thought sent and uneasy tingle running through her. "Is Darius going to hurt me, is that why you told me?"

Review:

The book starts off with Grace, a high school student, who just lost the only family she confided and trusted. Growing up had been hard on her, she always felt not wanted or felt like the family didn't like her.

She had a few friends, one best friend, that since she got a boyfriend had been spending less and less time with her. Grace had inherited her grandfathers house, money, and one special thing.
The story is about how she struggles to learn about her self and this other world. She is caught between  her destiny and her life she wants or wanted. She met the one person her grandfather trusted and has came to trust him as-well  Quentin, her guide and her protector. They have a bond together that reminds me of other books that had main characters with a bond. While both Quentin and Grace fight feelings for each other Grace meets a bad boy Darius. From there the story begins.
I enjoyed the book. The author did a great job making you feel like u were one of the characters. (which is what i look for in a book). It had a great flow, I didn't have to put down the book and go What???? Paranormal books are my weakness, that and romance.K Anne Raines did a great job combining the two. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. It has a brilliant plot, with hidden surprises that kept me wanting more throughout the story.

Review:

I enjoyed this book, it is not compared to anything I have read before. The author did a wonderful job bringing not only Romance in to the book but suspense, action and adventure.
She caught the reader in the first chapter.

This story is about a young lady who is a research specialist. Her friend from years ago called her one day needing her to meet him. She did so and in turn got into something she didn't think would ever happen to her. She was kidnapped and forced to work on a project that was not ready to be experimented in humans. She was forced to work on a DNA of humans and DNA of canine that was injected into human lab rats before finalized. She experiences being kidnapped , falling in love, learned new things about her, being captured to be kidnapped again, and a near death experience.
This is definitely a book to read and a Author to follow for more adventures.

5 stars from me!

The Accidental Submissive Review

The Accidental Submissive (The Mansion, #1)

Karen McGuven’s dangerously curious nature has gotten her into trouble before, but this time she’s hit the mother lode. Kneeling on the auction block she hears the gavel hit and SOLD just as the blood drains from her head. What has she gotten herself into now?

When Steven Edwards looks up and sees an angel kneeling on his auction block, he knows something’s wrong. Because the angel on her knees isn’t the pain kitten the auctioneer is selling. When he rescues her from a sadist, he can’t help but want to keep her for himself.

When she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation, and possibly hunted by the Russian mob, he takes her under his protection. Keeping her close to keep her safe, he doesn’t even mind as she stumbles into his heart.

Excerpt:

Slowly walking to the end of the catwalk she did the first thing that came to mind. Going down on her knees she put her ass on her heels, squared her shoulders, looked at the floor, and placed her hands on her thighs, palms up.That was when she realized the bidding had started. She heard the numbers suddenly slow and her heart sunk.
She done the wrong things. Oh god, what if no one bought her? And just finished that though, the bidding exploded and she couldn't keep track of the numbers as they were batted back and forth over her head.

Review:

This was my first time reading a book by Leah Michaels. It is a introduction to the BDSM lifestyle for Karen as she was sold. She went on a business errand and ended up in a fantasy of a life time and took me with her. She did a good job portraying the characters of Karen/ Kitten. Steven or as I want to call him Sir she characterized him as a gentle man who wanted to show Karen the best part of BDSM as he could. He wanted her to fall in love with his world and protect her at the same time. Leah opened up some things about Sirs life I hope she continues with in the next book. I will be reading that !
This book is not intended for a YA reader it has few sex scene but not where it takes over the book.

Inevitable by Angela Graham Review

Inevitable
by Angela Graham
Pages 308
Published May 25, 2013

Synopsis:
After experiencing a humiliating breakup, twenty-two-year-old Cassandra Clarke is fresh out of college and living a simple solitary life without any intentions of pursuing love anytime soon. When the estate next door sells, the last thing Cassandra expects is the unnerving attraction she feels for her sinfully handsome neighbor, Logan West, the young and charming single father with a playboy reputation. It’s through Oliver, Logan’s four-year-old son, who keeps popping up in her childhood tree house, that she slowly begins to catch glimpses of the compassionate and wounded man Logan has hidden beneath his strong exterior. Cassandra knows it's wrong and that she's heading for another heartbreak. Logan will never be able to give her what she truly desires…love.

Excerpt:
The next day i awoke early and watched out my kitchen window, waiting for Logan to appear for his morning jog. By seven thirty, he walked out his front door, shirtless and gorgeous, and stared over at my house.
I dropped the curtain in my front room, startled. I didn't want him to see me gawking, I really wasn't. Maybe a little.
He seems to be waiting, taking his sweet time to stretch. I peeked out again as suitable as possible and caught his occasional glance back at my house. Every time he bent down to stretch another part of his toned body, I felt the image etch itself into my brain.
Damn him.

Review:

I am rating this book a 5/5. I absolutely loved this book. It did everything i love about books it not only gave details that make you feel like you are there or wishing it was you... It pulled you in right at first making you want more.
A story about a young lady, Cassie having her heart broke by her high school sweetheart and moving on. she moved out of the city back to the house she visited growing up, which her grandparents left to her after passing. she lived out in the country. During one of her morning jogs with her best friend she got a glimpse of the new neighbor who seem to catch her attention right away. The story is about Cassie falling in love with a young boy that lived next door who was the remarkably hot neighbors son. and in time Cassie began to like more than her new neighbors body she liked him for his company as well. Its a good book it shows the gentle heart of a guy who can also be a "playboy" at night. I can not wait to read the next book to see what happens in Cassie and the neighbors life.

For the Sake of Revenge
A Alaskan Vampire Novel

Author: DL Atha
Published Date July 2, 2013
Pages: 288
Purchase :
Amazon

Synopsis:
How far was Tamara willing to go for revenge? And who would pay the price? She didn't know as she lifted the bottle to her lips but she was about to find out. Stepping off the ferry in Sitka, Alaska was bittersweet for Tamara Semenov. A decade earlier she had abandoned her mother and high school sweetheart, Peter, to marry a man she hardly knew only to find herself in an abusive relationship. Now ten years later, she had escaped with her life but at what cost? Her mother was dead. Although the police had ruled her mother's death an accident, Tamara was convinced her estranged husband was to blame and to make matters worse, she knows she is his next target. While putting her mother's affairs in order, Tamara finds the blood of a vampire named Adrik, who as a human was falsely accused of raping a Russian heiress and ex-communicated from the Church in 1808. For the sake of revenge, he willing condemned himself to vampirism. Learning that the blood could tie the living to the undead, Tamara seeks out a connection with the long buried Adrik with the hopes of striking a deal, his freedom for her revenge. Will he be the edge she needs to outmaneuver her estranged husband or will she become entangled in a two century old web of revenge from which she cannot escape?

Excerpt:
Her image flickered in the corner, and she reappeared one final time, a peaceful smile touching and lighting up her face in silvery shadows. Unable to stop the tears that leached from my eyes, I watched her form flickered once more then dissolved completely into a clear vapor.
The last remnants of her spirit dissipated on the air, and a numb feeling crawled through my body. I shook with the chills even as sweat pooled in my armpits. My mind danced between logic and soul. Maybe it was simply a bad dream.

Review;

The book started off slow it took me a few chapters to get into it. Once it started moving I enjoyed the book. It tells a couple stories.... one about Tamara and her life as it was and goes into how it is now. It also tells a story about a guy Adrik and how he became a vampire. this is not your normal paranormal book it is a vampire story but its not a Twilight or a Dirty Blood... it give you a older version of how Vampires came to exist  I rate this book a 3.5... I did like this book but it took me a while to get hooked. but after I got hooked DL Atha did a great job wheeling me in. I look forward in reading more of her books and hope to find out how Peter takes the surprise ending.

Giveaway!!!

Gnome on the Range Giveaway!!!!

Ana Be Still by R. Hoolland Review

Author: R. Holland
Published: Dec. 2012
Pages: 129
Purchase:Amazon
Rating:4.5/5

Description:
“While you were out…There was a war…between the humans…and the vampires. I don’t think the humans won.”

“Well whoopity-doo! When are we ever not at war?”

What would you do if you woke up one morning and the world was changed, never to be the same again?

Analisa Still (also known as Analisa Slayter) has just found out that everything she thought she knew about her life was a lie. To make matters worse, her parents have taken her to a compound for training. Total strangers seem to know more about who she is, what she is and what she was born to do than she does. And someone at the compound wants her dead. When the compound is attacked and the world overrun with vampires (and something else), Ana is forced to team up with the unlikeliest of allies. Thinking her betrothed is dead, Ana soon falls in love with one of her vampire comrades all while vowing to kill the vampires that killed her sister.

This book is recommended for ages 19 and up due to gory and graphic language.

Excerpt:
"As we walked down the hall, I noticed other doors. It reminded me of a hotel, or apartment building. But instead of hotel numbers  each door had a name on it. Hendricks, Timpson, Ramsey. I figured they were all last names. I turned to see if my last name was on my door as well as I did, he reached as he was going to pull me back around. If her touched me, I was going to kick him right in his manhood. I didn't care how good he looked. I was not in the mood for his bullshit."

Review:
The book starts off with the narrator talking about this vamp, then goes in to first person as a seeker then back to the narrator then back to the seeker so you have to be careful to not get confused. I had to back track to make sure I didn't loose my self for a moment. It is a story about a young girl who seems to be a laid back girl; sarcastic teenager. She just lost her sister and her soon to be niece or nephew. In the story she learns that her parents kept a deep secret from her and has to go through a major life changing event. She falls in love... twice..... while learning all her new talents and gifts. In the end the author did a great tease to make you want me... like I do!!! That is one thing I love! I have a idea how the story will turn out but I can't wait to read the twist and turns Ana has to go through to learn about her new gift and how to "save the world" along with her "new found friends" life again.

Dreams, Spells, and Moonlight Tales Review

Dreams, Spells and Moonlight Tales

Author: Amy K. McClung
Pages: 278
Purchase:
Published Date:
December 18,2012
Rating: 4/5
Synopsis:
This is Book #2 of The Parker Harris Series. (Cascades of Moonlight Book #1) Parker Harris desires a normal life, but it's just not in the cards for her. Parker is a werewolf. She has been for three years now. It’s the summer after she graduated high school and she is preparing for college. If only grades and college classes were her only worries. Parker and Jackie are trying to mend their fractured friendship from her betrayal. Jackie and Mitchell are working on their relationship, fighting jealousy and trust issues of their own. Quinn, a vampire, is the love of Parker’s life. He begins to look into his family’s past and what he finds is not pretty. In fact, it could mean the end for his relationship with Parker. A mistake from Parker's past is revealed and proves to be more enormous than she realized. Dreams—Parker is having dreams and visions of Will. She can’t decipher real from illusion it seems. Spells—Charisma, a new friend to the group, brings magic into the fold. Moonlit Tales—it seems that the full moon is not only a time for Parker to feel the pain of shifting. It’s also a time for unexplained occurrences and secrets being revealed. Can Parker and Quinn's love survive the obstacles they encounter? Is Jackie trustworthy? Are Parker’s feelings for Mitchell becoming too strong for her to ignore? Dreams, Spells, and Moonlit Tales summarize the events of Parker's life in this book.

Review:

I felt like there was alot of up and downs in the Dreams, Spells, and Moonlight Tales. Just like a teenagers life. It started off with the four of them getting a house close to collage and Parker and Mitch signs up for classes. They meet a friend of Quinn's from years before ... a witch. Then Quinn and Parker go to his home town and found some devastating news...
This book was better paced and the moods were not a roller coaster as the first book.
Amy McClung does a good job making you relate to the story, pulling you in. I love the fact that the book kept you guessing what was going to happen next. Amy would totally surprise you with the twist in events that would happen. I do recommend this for a YA... there is sexual content in the book but not detailed....

Cascades of Moonlight Review

Cascades of Moonlight

(The Parker Harris Series)

Author: Amy K. McClung
Pages:259
Published Date: May 13,2012
Where to purchase:

Synopsis:
Parker Harris was a normal teenage girl with a normal teenage life. That was true until two years ago when she was bitten by a werewolf, forcing her to endure the painful shifting each month during the full moon. She has kept this secret from everyone she loves. One day a stranger enters her small town and knows this secret. Nothing ever happens in the small town of Cascade Idaho, and new people rarely move in, but its Parker's senior year now and two new faces show up in town.  Shortly after their arrival, there is a brutal murder which becomes the first in Cascades history.

Excerpt:
Softly he whispered, "I know you're a werewolf, hon. When did you first turn?"
I gasped, glanced around to see if anyone was listening, and said in a loud whisper, "Werewolf? Are you crazy? I'm not a werewolf, there's no such thing!"
Panic rose in my chest, I could feel my legs shaking. My heart was racing, wondering how he could know that from just meeting me. Quin sat back, folded his arms across his chest and said, sardonically, "Really? Your going to play it like that?"
Getting angry now I scoffed "Look here, I dont know what you think you know, but if your trying to say I smell like a dog or even look like one... Well, you're really not making a friend here!"

Review:
When I was asked to read and review this book I was excited! I love Paranormal books. Reading a book about a young girl who was just his normal girl who had a best friend, went to school, parents worked all the time so she basically took care of her self. Sounded like the average teenager or young adult, Until she was attacked. She was the only one she had when it came to her change... she was scared to confide in anyone, scared they wouldn't accept her. Which too many young people today hide there true self to keep from being 'pushed out'. But as she finds out later in the book it was the opposite of what she expected... she not only found her love but her best friend for eternity.
The story has many twist in it which completely describes a teenage life... She meets new people has trouble figuring out who to trust when everyone lies to her.
The Author Amy McClung is a new writer this was her first book of her first series. I enjoyed reading this book and can not wait to start the next book. I do feel like at times the story was rushed like maybe she could of made some things a little more detailed or longer to give more of a pull to the story... I love books that can make the reader feel like they are there, and she did a great job doing that, but in some places i felt like she rushed it.
I do recommend this book... I hope it teaches young people today to be themselves and not be scared to tell the ones who love you who or what you are in fear of them not accepting you.
